Keith Alexander served in the Signal Platoon attached to Battalion Headquarters Company. 

After questions from his eldest grandson, Sam, Keith wrote of his time in Darwin and of his experiences serving in New Guinea, the Solomons and Bougainville. 

As a signalman Keith did not see as much front line action as those in the Infantry platoons, but his accounts of time spent in Darwin and later overseas, provide  another perspective on Battalion activities.
