Bruce Mackenzie served as a signalman during the war, initally with thr 11th Motor Regiment and in 1944 transferred to the 7th Battalion two weeks before they were 
posted overseas.
Bruce was interviewed twice by his local paper - once when he turned 90 in 2008 and again in 2009 after returning from a trip to Canberra to participate in the dedication of the 7th Battalion's plaque at the Australian War Memorial.
