We have concentrated on those resources relating to the areas in which the 7th Battalion served. There is also information on how to locate the service records of individuals who served in the military.

Books and articles

James, Karl.  The Hard Slog:  Australians in the Bougainville Campaign, 1944-45.  Cambridge University Press, 2012.  The 7th Battalion's work is mainly described on pages 102 to 112 but the book provides a detailed description of the whole Bougainville campaign.

Air Comodore A.D. Garrison (Ret.) Darwin 1942. In Australian Defence Force Journal No 122 Jan/Feb 1997 pages 41 to 77.  Provides an indepth analysis of the Bombing of Darwin in February 1942.

Australia in the War of 1939–1945. Series 1 – Army.  The digital versions of the two books in these official histories that relate to New Guinea and Final campaigns can be found on the Australian War Memorial website as follows:
